Traveler of the Month - July 2010

Katherine H. has been employed as a traveling Director of Nursing (DON) and Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) with 360 Healthcare Staffing since 2008. In these roles, she oversees nursing staffs to ensure residents receive quality care, and she supports the executive director and nursing teams of the facilities she has been placed in.

To be successful in her field, Katherine feels one needs to give care with heart and always listen to his or her patients. “Sometimes it’s the words that are not expressed that mean the most,” she says.

She enjoys the variety of experiences her job with 360 Healthcare Staffing provides. “I like the new people that I meet and the friends that I have had the honor of making in every place I go,” she says. “Also, I am always able to take away something new that I learned from each assignment. It means a lot.”

Since joining 360 Healthcare Staffing, Katherine has received much praise from the facilities that have hired her, with many of them touting her leadership qualities, professionalism and flexibility. One client called her an “excellent DON and clinical leader.” Another stated she was “exceptional, a very good nurse.”

Katherine finds great reward in such comments, and her position as a whole. “I stumbled on this job quite by accident, but it has been more than I ever could have anticipated,” she says. “How many people get to say, ‘I love my job!’ and mean it? Each assignment is a welcomed challenge and the places I visit offer new adventure."
